The recent Vivian Maier interweb attention boom has reached Flavorwire, Flavorpill’s cultural news and & critique outlet. For those of you who don’t know, Vivian Maier worked as a nanny and, over the course of her lifetime, took around 100,000 photographs of New York City and Chicago. Maier’s street photography is unbelievably composed, and while it may not have been her vocation, Maier was no hobbyist. If you need proof, take one look at her work, and the instincts for composition and value that permeate each picture.
